Me, Designer
After further investigation regulatory requirements really do factor into the design of experiences and interfaces, one day I shall attempt to break down why this doesn't have to be a bad thing.
I was considering switching banks and there was a rave about how you can go about this 100% digitally, and so I tried. At the time Equity was on my mind and so I downloaded the app and attempted - sadly to no success. The expereince did spark my curiosity and so I decided to see if I could attempt to improve it in some way. They are not a client, and perhaps the have since addressed these issues these are purely my thoughts on the product.
The brands communication that led me to think about them was the ads of old, mimi ni member, from the mama mboga to big business. The objective to me then reads as they won't make the process as hard compared to other banks. There are regulatory requirements ofcourse and that National ID has always been the bare minimum (I believe KRA PIN was recently passed as a requirement as well).
From the brands philosophy I would presume simplicity is the goal here, and this is what I encountered as I attempted to open an account. I color code various team users to assign responsibility to whom I believe is in charge at that phase of the process.
I love the 60/30/10 rule when working with color for anything (works even for a wardrobe), and CSS has gotten to the point of introducing HSL (Hue Saturation Light) which works perfectly to execute this when working with a brands colors on digital (I'm thinking of state changes, call to actions etc).
I focused more on 2 popular tests: Multivariant & A/B Testing, and this is because we are trying to improve on an existing product and not creating one from scrath.
